My name is Sugarbha. I was ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order in 2003 and given the Sanskrit name Sugarbha which means “he who is auspicious inside”. I have studied extensively since then, including two four month long intensives in the mountains of Spain. I was born in Dublin. I have been a practising Buddhist since 1990 when I came across the Triratna Buddhist Community in Ireland.
Whilst living a simple life in the Australian outback in the late nineties, I had a number of experiences which changed the course of my life. I returned to Europe in 2000 and I was ordained in 2003 in Spain.
I have introduced and led Buddhism, meditation classes and retreats in the UK, Ireland and Spain. I currently live in Barcelona where I am involved in running Buddhist activities in Spanish within the context of Comunidad budista Triratna en Barcelona. I have also a love of poetry, music, video production and fitness. When I can I enjoy the coast and mountains of Cataluña.
My interest in mindfulness and meditation comes from personal experience. These practices have enabled me to live a life more in harmony with myself, others and the world around me. They allow me to connect more fully with others, to contact a deeper sense of purpose and meaning in life. The practices have enabled me to enjoy the simple things in life more fully.
Anyone, regardless of their beliefs can benefit hugely from the course we offer.
